Co-Innovation Challenge

A strategic partner in digital innovation and business growth in over 28 countries, specializes in digital transformation, AI-driven recruitment, and custom software development. One of their solutions is their recruitment service, connecting top Latin American tech talent with global employers.

With a rapidly growing network of over 150,000 tech professionals and 3,000 new candidates added monthly, Nearsure faced a mounting challenge: efficiently matching job opportunities with the right candidates.

The manual recruitment process, analyzing job descriptions and searching for matches, was time-consuming, error-prone, and unsustainable given the volume of applications. Delays and missed job opportunities had impacts on both Neasure’s recruitment team and job candidates.

To address this, Nearsure partnered with the Microsoft AI Co-Innovation Lab in Montevideo to build a scalable, intelligent recruitment system that could automate and optimize candidate matching.

In the Lab

Together, they designed and built an Azure-powered AI agent that acts as a recruitment pipeline, analyzing job descriptions, searching the candidate database, and finding matches that are then placed in comparison tables that weigh the strengths and weaknesses of the matches.

Additionally, the team leveraged key Microsoft technologies to make each step of the workflow possible:

  • Azure OpenAI Service made natural language processing possible so the agent could analyze job descriptions and generate SQL queries.
  • Azure AI Search & Vector Search embedded job descriptions and performed semantic searches to identify top candidates.
  • Microsoft Fabric enabled efficient management and consultation of candidate profiles.

The solution successfully replaced manual analysis and matching with instant, high-accuracy results.

The AI-powered recruitment system delivered measurable and transformative results:

  • 30% reduction in time spent searching for candidates on external platforms.

Building on the initial lab prototype, the Nearsure team has continued to evolve the solution for greater adaptability and user control.

The most notable enhancement is an intelligent search flow that uses job description data to pre-populate an advanced search with relevant metadata to find the perfect candidates. This saves recruiters time while still allowing them to adjust or edit searches based on their expertise.

With candidate matching and intelligent search enabled, Nearsure is positioned as a leader in AI-driven recruitment. Thanks to their partnership with the Microsoft AI Co-Innovation Lab, Nearsure has a scalable solution, a roadmap for future integration, and additional internal expertise in AI technologies.
